The start to a great week

Hello blog world, it's me again (T) making another appearance. I'm sure you all have been dying to hear from the T side of this duo as well, so enjoy. I have two main thoughts- 1, I am having a fantastic week. School started yesterday, but from the first two days, this semester looks to be very promising. I love the feeling that accompanies gaining an education. At times school can be a bit overbearing, homework can pile up, and tests can seem to make your whole world freeze up, but beneath all of that (for me anyways) is a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in learning- in being able to see the world with a slightly deeper view and greater understanding. The second and more influential reason as to why I'm having such a great week is because of my amazing wife. For the three weeks leading up to school we got to spend almost all day everyday together, which helped us get to know each other even more and add depth to our marriage. But now that she is busy with work and I'm at school, I look forward to the time we get to spend together more. Possibly even more than when we did have those three weeks off, because now I look forward to that time more, and feel deprived during the day when I don't get to see her. Just in the last few days I feel like our time together has been sweeter. As you begin classes you learn just how much work awaits you in the coming weeks and months, and after thinking in multiple directions for hours, I feel like the time I get to sit and relax with Lauren really brings a sense of peace, not to mention some well needed laughs as we try to out goober each other (which Lauren always wins :) I couldn't be happier to be married to this great girl, and I know with her as my teammate and my great line up of classes, this will be the greatest semester I've had yet!

Enjoyable jobs do exist...

I started my job as the "Assistant Director in the Rollins Center of Entrepreneurship & Technology in the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University" (whew...) on August 15. I could not have gotten a more perfect job (finally) for my personality (semi type A.... semi red... oops). I am over 5 students, I plan activities for the Founders (big time donors), Associate Founders (up and coming big time donors), plan the Business Plan Competition (think Cold Stone, 1-800-CONTACTS, Kalood), also have my hand in about 5 other competitions, I plan events like the one below, we took the Associate Founders to the Energy Solutions Arena to eat yummy food, listen to a speaker (lady who started Utah Valley Magazine and who has interview a million awesome people) and tour the place!
It was weird to be in the empty arena... it seemed so much smaller.
Here is the basketball floor.. worth 5 million approx., a huge jigsaw puzzle and they replace it every 5 years.. crazy! But all bundled up like this... it is kinda anti- climactic.
Here is the locker room, it is new and so rad! Too bad they can't use it because of the lock-out. It is way nice in there and just cool because not many people get to go down there ( I guess.. .they probably tell everyone that)
Game Schedule (hopefully!!!)
View from the bottom, don't see that too often!
Here was the gorgeous view from our conference room. It is amazing and inspiration to be around these men and women who have started their own businesses, they are really motivating people who are so friendly and charismatic.

Soo.... that is one example of a perk... it took some work to get it put together(I just showed up this year... but next year.... yikes!) But in February I am planning a retreat with the Founders, they are going on this ship....
to the Carribbean....

and I get to go... so does Trent! I have already started planning and it is intense, but it is awesome!

Sorry for the bragging post, but I have put in my time of crazy jobs and well... this is my blog :)

Time on my hands..

This week was my last week off, I knew I wanted to craft but have been such a pool bum i didn't make time. I went to Hobby Lobby for some inspiration!!

Last week we went to Idaho to see our nephew be baptized, our little niece had this cute piggy bank and I knew I wanted our kids to have them too. I saw them on sale at HL and thought, WHY NOT!? So I picked two up with some paint and went to town.

Our bathroom needed some va-va-voom so I saw this on pinterest and thought an amateur like me could do this with a canvas, masking tape and some paint. Not bad eh?
You all will have to come over to say hi and check it out:)

Monday!

I start my new job! New job means new beginnings! I could not be more excited... I have finally made a decision to purge some things/people that bring negativity and this job is just the thing to get me started! Cheers!
