The First Anniversary # 1

Blogging has seemed more like a burden lately then fun...
but here are some pics from our anniversary trip in SLC.
We went to the Leonardo Museum

We drew our faces

I guess they kind of look like us
Played on the magnet wall
Saw the huge blown glass wall that was supposed to resemble algae.
Then wrote what makes Utah great! I wrote BYU
(and covered a sign that said the U with it)
Trent wrote "Me"- married a humble one here folks.
I sure think he is cute, so I can't help but agree.

Tender Mercies

If any of you have ever tied to park at BYU, you know it is a
NIGHTMARE.
Yes, I have "A" lot parking priviliges
however, professors who walk think it is so nice to give their A Lot pass to students
and the students take up all the spots
there are barely enough for teachers
(you know who you are... I have seen your car there)
I run a ton of errands for work
I try to avoid them because of this parking
DISASTER
however, yesterday it was a
MIRACLE
every time I pulled in
there it was
my own parking spot
Heavenly Father knew my stresses and knew me wigging out was not an option
since I had meetings with some donors
trust me, you don't want to see that
it really is the little things

1 Year!

Hello blog world. As L informed you, today completes 365 days of our being married. Currently I am waiting in bed as tantalizing smells of a delectable breakfast waft in from the kitchen. L is making me the breakfast in bed of a lifetime. And this is just a small example of what the past 365 days have been like. I'm bumbling about my day to day business, just trying to get through the day, while L has things figured out two weeks from now, and just how she can do nice things for me today, tomorrow, and in two weeks. Even though she works full time day in day out to keep our little family afloat, she still finds time everyday to think about my needs, or just my whims and ways that she can do things to serve me or bring more fun and adventure to my life. Whether is a donut that she nabs from a work meeting, a candy bar that she buys on her way home from work, or an entire weekend in Reno that she sets me up with, she is always thinking about what she can do for me. It has been a great year with L, I love her tons and am very grateful for her!

1 year!

T and I have been married one year.
It has been the best year of my life.
I married the most patient and loving man I have ever known.
On our wedding day I knew he was good,
but now I can honestly saw he has exceeded any expectation I ever had
He lets me be crazy,
like dipping graham crackers into my lemonade
and watching horrible ABC Family movies and loving them
and I guess being vain
(but hey that picture above is probably the best I have ever looked and ever will look)
He always is excited to see me and really does put my needs first.
He does the laundry and takes out the trash.
He stays up and talks with me until all hours of the night.
He surprises me with dates, presents and vacations even though I try to figure it out beforehand.
T is hard working, passionate, smart, witty
and he has these little hips that wiggle so funny when he plays just dance.
He has made this year the best year of my life.
We have had so many fun times, vacation but lots of changes.

I really can't wait for eternity with this boy.

T, I love you more then you know.
Thanks for being you and letting me be me.

Things that are getting me through the week...

"Never Say Never" is now on Netflix, nothing like the Biebs to help you relax after a long week.

The Sarah Bareilles pandora station.

Pizzas made from 80 calorie tortillas (hell0 a pizza the size of a tortilla all for 200 cals.. yes please!)

Grapefruits the size of my head.

Reading the email from Leeds saying that T has been accepted (YAY!- now only 6 more to hear back from)

Starring at my closet and seeing my cute Anthro dress and knowing I get to wear it in 37 days.

Watching the Kardashians at the gym last night and thanking my Heavenly Father I was not born into their family- (no sound and the subtitles make you even more grateful). Love you Mom!

Tracking my new shoes from Finish Line come in the mail (today, thanks Lacee!)

Last but not least, sneaking pics of wedding sites for my best friend Lacee, sorry lace I will stop I promise, I understand this is your wedding! (side note: I could have planned my wedding for a year and been so happy doing it!)

Getting to see my niece at her dance recital Saturday

Spending the weekend with my honey celebrating (check back Sunday to see why)

New Years Resolutions

This has become my everyday face
So 2012 will be my year to CHILL OUT
I will say no
I will learn how to handle the 50 interruptions I get in one day
I will not be the 'garbage can' of the office
I will not take everything personally
I will stop trying to make every type A personality happy
because guess what? They never will be.
I will stop worrying about my weight
I will stop worrying about how I look old
I will stop worrying about my house being clean enough
I will stop comparing myself to EVERYONE around me
(blogs were invented for everyone to publicly project perfections in their lives, you rarely hear about the imperfections)

I will spend more time focusing on the Savior
I will spend more time just with T.
I will take just a tad more time to myself
I will enjoy this period in my life
I will learn to deal with change (since 2012 might be the year of it)

I will end this long- winded post :)

Best Christmas ever!

Hello all, T here. Long time no post. But we just had such an awesome Christmas, I just had to share with the whole blogging community! So here is what made it so great-

For one, after a particularly turbulent semester, it was nice to sit on a couch and read. This is the activity I miss the most during the semester when I'm up to my ears in text books, art history articles, and Russian literature. And it's not that I don't love reading those things, especially the Russian works, but when it's for homework, there is a certain strain that is combined with it that is absent when I'm reading on my couch in pj's snacking on Christmas treats.

A great addition to the usual Christmas season traditions (that rhymed) was tuning in Christmas Eve morning to the King's college boys choir performance at Cambridge. One of my humanities professors told me about the performance, and I highly recommend it. You can listen to it broadcast live on bbc, or on classical 89 for those of you in the Wasatch range. The performance itself is a series of Christmas messages from the Bible about the life of Christ, accompanied by several carols and hymns to each message. Each year they also commission a new carol to be written for the concert. The performance and the choir were amazing, and listening to the performance will be definitely be an annual tradition in the T and L household. Next year we'll hopefully catch it live ;)

Lastly, it was great to spend so much time with family. As was mentioned in an earlier post, my sis just returned to us from Africa, and it was wonderful to spend time with her as well as my parents for the holidays. And of course having two interruption free weeks to spend with L was probably the best part. She spoiled me rotten for Christmas, but just having the time with her over Christmas and then for new years with her family in Vegas with no work and no school really "made the season bright" (no offense turkey and mistletoe). This was our first married Christmas together, and I'm glad that we have dozens more to look forward to in the future. So as the kick off to all those future ones, it really was the best Christmas ever!
